Hartland is an evangelistic missions-oriented ministry that serves the youth of the Central Valley of California. Every campers that attends one of our events is exposed the the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our summer short-term missions opportunities offer a wide variety of missions employment and volunteer opportunities from June through August each year. We believe that every member of our missions staff plays a critically important role as a partner in the ministry of Hartland and in sharing the Gospel of Christ. Therefore, as we seek to fill missions positions for the summer, we strive to employ those committed to serving others in Jesus’ name, who desire to grow, and who have a strong work ethic. Make no mistake, this is a short-term missions project, you will be helping share the Gospel with the youth of the Central Valley. As with many other missions organizations, you will be asked to share letters of support with your friends, family, and church.

Please keep in mind that we have a limited number of paid positions available. If you are interested in volunteering at Hartland, please indicate that on your application.

Summer missions employment begins in early June and goes through mid to late August. We start reviewing applications on September 1st of each year ahead of the next year’s summer. Be sure to apply early while spots remain available.

Summer Missions Staff Positions

  • FOOD SERVICE (service missions)
  • CAMP SUPPORT STAFF (around 40% of our summer staff)
    • Serve in all primary areas serving our campers
    • Worship Team Member/Floater
      • We are seeking individuals who point people to Christ, not themselves during worship
  • MAINTENANCE
    • Maintenance/Floater
  • ACCOMMODATIONS
    • Accommodations/Recreation Assistant/Floater
    • Lifeguard/Accommodations/Floater (up to 3 lifeguards total)
  • PROGRAM (direct evangelistic opportunities)
    • Videographer/Photographer
    • Recreation Team Member

All missions team members are encouraged to interact and engage with campers so that the Gospel may be shared. Be present during decisions nights and available to pray with campers at chapel services. As part of your missions service, you will be required to attend our weekly Staff Chapel as well as one of the staff Bible Studies as we seek to train you in service.
